Petaluma Community: 35th Annual Butter & Egg Days Parade & Festival
One of our favorite Petaluma community events, the 34th Annual Butter & Egg Days Parade & Festival is right around the corner. On April 25th, 2015, locals and visitors will gather to celebrate all things Petaluma. Brought to you by the Petaluma Downtown Association, the parade is largely funded through business sponsorships, and a grant from the County of Sonoma.
The theme this year is “Fertile Ground,” celebrating Petaluma’s remarkable fertile ground, sharing success stories of our community’s culture, businesses, education, legends and non-profits that each play an essential role in making our beautiful hometown as rich and productive of a town as it is.
2014 Event Organizer, Ross Jones, VP of the Petaluma Downtown Association says “It’s about hometown pride and the opportunity to exemplify the generosity that makes Petaluma unique…we’re celebrating all things hatched, incubated, planted and raised in our hometown.”
The parade begins at Walnut Park (intersection of 4th and D Streets) and will head north towards Kentucky Street, taking a right on Washington Street eastward, followed by another right onto Petaluma Blvd. North, heading south and finally commencing at Walnut Park. The awards ceremony will take place around 3:00 p.m. on the stairs of the Petaluma Historical Library and Museum.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the festival will be cranking out music, family activities, food vendors, beer gardens, arts and crafts and much more. With over 30,000 spectators, 3,000 participants and 250 volunteers, this is a Petaluma community event you definitely will not want to miss.
The Button Launch and Fundraiser pre-parade day will take place on April 6th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Lagunitas Brewery. Serving a Rocky & Rosie chicken rotisserie dinner by Lombardis, Lagunitas brews and with live music from Blue Moment and Randy & The Special Agents. There will also be a raffle with items donated from local Petaluma community businesses. Purchase tickets in advance for $20 or at the door for $25. Click here to get yours!
